I have a 12 year old daughter who is very artistic. She’s got an eye that captures great shots. Soon, I will allow her to be my right hand girl. I love embracing her gift! I tell her often, how gifted she is with the camera. I’ll often ask her to take pics for us because, she’s so good at it. She loves anything creative. She’ll take an old pair of jeans, and make a purse. She’ll take coins and create a picture. She wrote little Jesus songs a couple years back. She loves music. She loves to bake. I love seeing her embrace all these things in her life. My husband and I, do our best to encourage these gifts, and speak them over her life. She knows she’s loved and I believe, she knows she is gifted.

I’m certain she believes these things we speak over her life. Still, as her parents, we have to constantly remind her of her worth. We need her to know that she is loved by a God – who loves her more than we could ever love her.

As her parents it’s important we constantly watch over the things she’s embracing in her life. The world we live in, is constantly telling us; that we need more to be more. We live in a time that we think, the more we have – the more important we become. Life is all about what you have. Get more, have more, so you can be more. The more followers you have – the more important you’ve become. The more ‘likes’ you have the more you are “liked”.

We are constantly fighting for attention from others. And FOR WHAT?! The same people who like you today may not like you so much tomorrow. We try so hard to keep up with getting all this attention. Still, why is it that even with all the knowledge, all the money, and all the beauty – at the end of the day we can still go to bed feeling empty?!

What then do we do???

Let me ask you some questions for you to think about – that I pray, will enlighten how valuable you are.

Did you know that you are valuable? Did you know that Someone loves you so much – that He says before you were in your mothers womb, He knew you and chose you {Jeremiah 1:5}? Did you know that Someone LOVES you soo much that He died for you?! He gave up every ounce of blood that water began to pour out.

“When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” John‬ ‭19:30

At that moment, when Jesus gave up His Spirit we became heirs to His kingdom. We were bought with the precious blood of Jesus.

YOU, my friend, were worth dying for! I don’t know about you, but that brings me to my knees in tears. I know who I was and where I’ve been in this life. Let me tell you, I wouldn’t think of myself as someone worth dying for. YET! God says otherwise. You see friend, even when you don’t think you are valuable – God says YES you are! You were worth my Sons blood.

This has put so much in perspective. I’ve learned to think better of myself. Let me tell you, with all I’ve done, this was not easy. When I have thought I don’t deserve to think good things about myself – the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit has encouraged me with Gods word (bible) that I am chosen.

“But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:9-10‬

Chosen. There is no better way to put it! We have been chosen by our creator! Isn’t that something! He won’t change His mind tomorrow about how He feels. This is an everlasting LOVE! This is the real deal! It doesn’t get any better than this. I enjoy going to bed knowing that I have true value. You, deserve to go to to bed feeling the same way.

Take the time to just sit and think about these verses I’ve shared. Get them in your heart. Get them in your soul. Meditate on them. Begin to repeat this to yourself – “God says: I am worth His sons blood — “Jesus says: I love you this much, as He stretched out His arms and gave up His last breath”

I am praying that you find your worth in the One who says you ARE worthy! You are more precious than any job, friend, jewels, or money. Don’t let anyone ever tell you different.

Relationships are vital to our daily life. If you want a good marriage you need to work on building a strong relationship with your spouse. If you are dating – you are definitely looking for faithfulness in your relationship. If you want a good friendship there has to be trust between friends to share your issues with one another. We want to be heard. We want to be understood. We want to be loved! We give to others and in return, hope that others will give back.

Here are some things I would like to ask you to think about…

How do you respond when you don’t agree with someone? Or, you have very different views on life or beliefs?! I’m not just talking about a loved one or a friend. What about an acquaintance, neighbor, a coworker, or even someone you may not enjoy being around sometimes? How do you interact with them? Are you awkward or even obviously annoyed by them? Do you ignore them because you have nothing in common? Do you know how to be civil with someone you really don’t care too much for?

Things aren’t always gonna be the way we want it to be. People aren’t always gonna agree with you. People aren’t always gonna respond how we would like them to. So, learning to respond in LOVE, instead of reacting off our emotions – will leave a lasting impression on others. People will remember those things and will appreciate it – even if they don’t say it!

I’ve been around many different types of people with different attitudes in my life and it started off as a little girl. I have 6 sisters and 2 brothers. So our home was constantly chaos. There was always so much noise and screaming because we were mostly girls with different attitudes and needs. We often fought for the attention of our parents. Myself, being the eldest girl I believed I was the boss. I always had to be in charge. And because of that I’ve had to learn the hard way – that things can’t always be my way!

When I became a Christian I learned, that being right all the time and wanting to take control isn’t how God expects us to be. I look at the life of Jesus and admire how, He was such a servant! Though He was fully God He didn’t come to this world to have people bow down and serve Him. In fact He did the opposite. He became the blessing to others by meeting their needs. The more I study who Jesus is, the more I’m drawn to Him. Walking in love is attractive. When you are something that is contrary to what people see nowadays, it is appealing.

This world is already filled with soo much hate and selfishness. I think most would agree that the times we live in, are darker than ever before. Let’s learn to be the light this world needs to see these days. Don’t let the fear of our chaotic and aggressive world, intimidate you. Be someone who loves fiercely. People will appreciate it! People will be thankful for it. Don’t we want to be appreciated?! I know I do!
You have the power to change a persons attitude; by loving them when they don’t deserve it. By smiling at the angriest faces. By hugging a person who is having a bad day. We don’t really know what has caused a person to be so angry. Those negative responses are usually an expression of some issue in their life that has caused fear or hurt. We unintentionally react out of our emotions in a negative way. So because of the fear or hurt from someone else; we lash out. I’ve been there!

“You are the light that shines for the world to see. You are like a city built on a hill that cannot be hidden. ‭‭” Matthew‬ ‭5:14‬ ‭

Don’t let the darkness in this world cause your light to go out! You are the light who God created uniquely and beautifully!
