Spring is around the corner and I know people are excited for the longer days and brighter everything. There’s something wonderful about the transformation taking place as we begin to see, what was dry and dead – is now beginning to come alive again. Nature is taking it’s course and the blooming season is here.
This got me thinking about how blooming takes place in our lives as well. We are constantly experiencing different seasons in our lives. This thought came to my mind, and I couldn’t help but rejoice; no matter how gray our lives can seem, how dry we may feel or how dead (spiritually) we have become – we can rejoice that HOPE remains. Giving up shouldn’t be an option. There is always something to look forward to, no matter how heavy the clouds seem to hover over you. Our hope must remain in our Savior – Jesus Christ.
Just as the light is necessary for growth and reproduction in nature. Even so our lives NEED the light of this world – which is Jesus! For growth within our hearts and lives we need to be filled up with His Spirit that brings life. So that we can reproduce the joy that is within. Through the light that guides and shines through us, we can now spring forth good fruit.
“If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light.” Luke 11:36 NLT
Just as natures colors radiate around us during Spring – our lives should radiate because of the one who resides in our heart. Through my learning to rest in Gods peaceful presence – I have become content through the dark and brighter days of life. Only because I have learned that nothing in this life is certain, but the love of Christ is always certain. There is true contentment in a life that is surrendered to Jesus Christ. I have found the Person in whom, my resting should be placed in. I’ve become fully aware that as a follower of Christ, my burdens are to be placed upon Him and Him alone. The joy that beams within us, can become attractive to those around us, leaving them wanting that fulfillment in their lives. The question will remain… why is this person so full of life even through the darkest of times?!? It becomes an opportunity to share with someone – that our strength to pursue joy, even in the darkest of times is only found in the resting of Gods presence. Our lives are meant to have purpose! This is our purpose – that we share Gods goodness. When the trials of life come, we can remain standing. And, not just standing, but overcoming with power and fulfillment.
Don’t you want to have a life fulfilled with real purpose?! I know I do.
Every trial we face is for a purpose. God doesn’t overlook your pain, or your dark seasons of life. Just as the rain prepares the soil for growth – our “dark and rainy” seasons will produce growth in our lives that will leave us stronger, and full of life. Seek for this contentment in your life.
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:12-13 NIV
